As we enter into the official start of the Christmas shopping season 2023, one thing has become glaringly apparent. Customer service at the big corporate box stores are D.O.A.
Blair and I have received many messages from customers over the last few weeks, thanking us for our prompt responses, shipping and quality. The one thing above all that keeps being mentioned is "customer service". In todays climate what exactly does that mean and look like? We asked ourselves this very question last night.
To us, customer service is about assisting. We are 90% handmade in North Carolina. We often get asked to take a persons vision and bring it to life. One thing we can't rest on, is our communication with the customer. We have found that communication solves 99% of problems and frustration before they get started.
As a small business, a bad customer experience is amplified. We don't have large corporate marketing funds to bury bad reviews or the ability to neglect a customer in general. We live by the golden rule, we treat our customers with the same respect we want to be treated as well.
This Christmas shopping season my hope is that you consider shopping with a small business that values YOU as a customer! When you spend your hard earned dollar with a small business, you're supporting friends, family and your local economy.
In closing I can promise you, we'll never be the cheapest option, ever. We simply can't compete with the huge box stores. I can promise you that we'll value YOU, YOUR time and YOUR dollar. So where has all of the customer service gone? It's left the big box stores for Main Street USA. Look around, customer service is closer than you think.
